Germany`s Nowotny to miss Iran friendly

IRNA - German national football team sweeper Jens Nowotny will miss the October 9 friendly match against Iran at Tehran`s Azadi Stadium, the press reported here on Friday. 
The Bayer Leverkusen player is still trying to catch up in practice following a knee inury and thus won`t be ready for the match, according to his club coach Klaus Augenthaler. 
Nowotny joins other national team-mates like VfB Stuttgart`s Kevin Kuranyi and Hamburg`s Benjamin Lauth on the injury list for the Iran game.
